No job too big or small. Lends a helping hand wherever it’s needed. A self-starter who leads rather than follows. These are a few ways to describe Robert Elkins, trailer lead in the shipping department.
“I have really grown to trust and value Robert’s opinion,” says shipping manager Mike “Hollywood” Flores. “He has learned to develop plans on his own, and he’s always looking to find the best way to help the team and Western Window Systems be successful.”
Flores says Robert strives to do the best he can at everything he does, whether it’s a simple stack or tackling a container for the first time with the team. And when the company gave him more responsibility, he ran with it.
“Robert has been the biggest hand in shipping when it has come to putting locating and staging in place,” his manager says. “We handed him the process and what we wanted to accomplish, and he fine-tuned it. He helped us realize how important that step is in our process.”
In addition to helping out in whatever department needs it most, Robert, who started with WWS in February 2017, has helped management with staff development.
“Rob has really learned to find the best in people,” Flores says. “He strives to find out what makes each person click and then uses that to help them grow.”
In short, he’s a true team player.
