As part of its ongoing commitment to give back to the community, Western Window Systems will donate four pop-up tents to Goodwill of Central Arizona for the charitable organization’s numerous donation drives held throughout the year.
“We’re happy to be working with Western Window Systems. The tents are really useful,” says Joe Barba, donation drive coordinator. “They will provide shade for the students and drivers at the schools where we set up to collect donations.”
As many as 10 drives are held each weekend at schools and nonprofits throughout the area, with a 26-foot box truck set up onsite to collect household goods, books, shoes, clothing, and electronics equipment for those in need. And Goodwill gives back to the host sites 10 cents per pound of items collected.
In thanking Western Window Systems for the tents, Barba says the two organizations have another partnership under way.
“Goodwill has a job-resource service and 18 career centers where we can help Western Window Systems fill some of their empty staff positions,” he says.
Says Rob Robichaud, Western Window Systems’ vice president of human resources: “Partnership begins with finding the one partner that will not benefit the most, but also will contribute the most in our community. That is why we believe in Goodwill and partner with them when we can.”
