Dejuan Bennett, second shift saw team lead for Western Window Systems, knows that pushing himself to tackle additional responsibilities is a great way to grow personally and professionally. And his desire to take on more isn’t lost on his team.
“He treats each department like a customer,” says hinge door manager Jason Wengert. “He takes initiative, jumps in wherever he’s needed, and serves as a role model for others.”
Steve Center, second shift department manager, adds, “Day in and day out he comes to work determined to make that day better than the last.”
Bennett’s creative problem-solving skills proved essential when the team was looking for ways to improve completion time. He noted that cut times could be improved through the organization of carriages. Specifically, by the way the team sorted materials by department.
And when it comes to helping out his coworkers, Bennett takes that on, too.
“He heard that the bi-fold team was struggling with their capacity and volunteered to complete orders at night while maintaining the saw schedule,” says Wengert. “He jumps in wherever he is needed.”
Congratulations to Dejuan Bennett, Western Window Systems’ shop employee of the month for September.
