Most of the people who work in Western Window Systems’ frames department with Justin Burns know him as “Red.” That’s probably because of his hair color, but it could also be because he’s red-hot when it comes to bouncing from line to line as needed in the production process.
Burns started working at Western Window Systems in the panels department in August 2018 and was moved to the saw in the frames department not long after. “We needed someone that could learn and move quickly, and he did so with ease,” says assistant production manager Mike “Hollywood” Flores.
Next, Burns moved to the CNC machines on the frames line. “He learned just as quickly and just as easily,” Flores says. “He has actually helped train people on both the frame saw and frame CNC.”
“In a pinch we had him run the frame line, and he was successful there, too,” Flores continues. “He is the type of person we can put anywhere, and he will be successful.”
Burns then asked to help lead the frames department, and has excelled there, as well. He’s also been successful at gaining the respect of his teammates in the shop through his hard work and huge personality. “He has a very unique personality,” Flores says, “and it is with that uniqueness that he works with the ladies and gentlemen on the frames line and he gets the results we are all looking for – having fun creating a winning company.”
