For all the hard work that goes into manufacturing Western Window Systems products, it’s vital that the time and effort isn’t wasted on product that disappoints the customer.
That’s why quality control is so important and why QC inspector Cipriano Velarde is the right man for the job.
“Cipriano will go above and beyond to ensure that the shop understands why they do what they do,” says manager Melchor Ordaz. “He is constantly working with them to grow them and make them better. He pushes them and shows them what ‘correct’ looks like. And he will not stop till it is correct.”
Cipriano, who started with the company in December 2013, is always looking for ways to improve manufacturing processes.
“He takes the shop’s input and tests its function and performance before making a change,” Ordaz says. “He is thorough, and you can pretty much say that when he makes a change, it has been validated.”
And regarding the company’s core principle of partnership, Ordaz puts it rather succinctly: “Cipriano is the poster child for partnership. By digging into the hardware, weatherstrip, and other items we use to fabricate, he feeds back that information so we can help our vendors with their processes and make them better.”
Congratulations to Cipriano Velarde, Western Window Systems’ office employee of the month for June.
