Western Window Systems’ headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, received a 2019 JLL Spaces Showcase Award from Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL), the largest commercial real estate services firm in the world.

Designed by architecture firm Ware Malcomb, Western Window Systems’ 170,000-square-foot facility won top honors in the Large Space category. JLL noted the building’s use of design and technology to create connections between office, storeroom, and manufacturing areas, including multi-slide door systems in the conference areas that demonstrate a transition from open collaboration areas to private meeting rooms and “acoustic glass panels that maintain visual connections between the office and manufacturing area while blocking noise.”

“These kinds of workspaces are usually reserved for tech companies, not manufacturers. But we’re not just any manufacturer,” says Scott Gates, president of Western Window Systems. “We wanted this space to give visitors a sense of who we are, and to give employees opportunities to wind down, stir their creative juices, and have fun.”

This was the first annual JLL Phoenix Spaces Showcase Awards. The awards were created to recognize projects with a high ability to reflect a company’s brand, engage workers, and increase productivity.

Winners were announced at an event at The Yard in Tempe, Arizona, in October.
