Western Window Systems president and CEO Scott Gates has been selected as one of 30 exceptional executive MBA (EMBA) graduates from the class of 2015 by Poets & Quants, a business school news website. The inaugural feature highlights EMBAs who’ve differentiated themselves from their peers.
“Unlike full-time MBA students, executives who gain an executive version of the degree must balance work and family with an often grueling educational load,” says Poets & Quants writer Jeff Schmitt. “Gaining the degree, and the confidence that comes with it, is no easy task.”
To compile its list, Poets & Quants invited 60 of the top-ranked EMBA programs (in and outside the U.S.) to submit one nominee who best exemplified their respective school. Candidates were evaluated on their professional achievements, academic prowess, and personal narratives.
“An MBA exposes you to all of the different components of business. However, it also highlights for you just how much help you will need to succeed at the highest levels,” says Gates in the feature article. “I am much more prepared, and much more confident regarding the unique challenges of running a $100 million business.”
Gates, who joined Western Window Systems in 2011, holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and an MBA from Arizona State University. In March, he was selected by Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business for its first-ever Sun Devil Select event, a celebration that honors top businesses owned or run by ASU alumni.
