Energy Efficiency and Sustainability

Already sought after by architects and builders for their built-to-last manufacturing, smooth operation, and modern design, Western Window Systems products also are created with energy efficiency in mind.

A green landscape is visible through a giant, multi-slide door.

Insulating Glass

Western Window Systems products feature low-E, argon-filled, dual-pane glass, which blocks heat loss to the outside while reflecting heat back into a room. This helps to reduce heating and cooling costs. Glass can be customized in a variety of types, colors, and thicknesses to meet the performance challenges of various climates.

Cardinal Glass

Western Window Systems Performance Line of door systems and windows come standard with all-climate coated or high-performance glass from Cardinal Glass Industries. Customized glass options include laminated glass, solar- and glare-controlled glass, enhanced winter performance glass, and Neat low-maintenance glass. Pre-applied Cardinal Preserve film protects glass through installation.

Energy Star

To receive ENERGY STAR certification, a window or door must meet a set of energy performance levels determined by the U.S. government. ENERGY STAR criteria varies in different areas of the country. Select products from Western Window Systems Performance Line meet rigorous ENERGY STAR specifications.

Thermally Broken Aluminum

Many Western Window Systems door systems and windows are available with the option of thermally broken aluminum, which features an insulating barrier that increases energy performance.

Weatherstripping

Our door systems feature tight, durable seals that help control humidity and moisture and minimize air leakage.

Air, Water, and Structural Performance

Western Window Systems’ door systems and windows are subjected to air, water, and structural testing and are tested and certified by the NFRC (National Fenestration Rating Council) and AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association).
