Series 600 Window Wall Specification
General
Aluminum windows shall be Series 600 as manufactured by Western Window Systems, LLC, 5621 South 25th Street , Phoenix , Arizona 85040-3698 . Windows shall conform to AAMA/NWWDA 101/I.S.2-97, F-C45 specifications. Windows shall also conform to NFRC 100-97 "Procedure for Determining Fenestration Product Thermal Properties". Western reserves the right to change specifications without notice.
Material
Window frame shall be of commercial quality 6063-T5 alloy and temper extruded aluminum. Component parts and accessories shall be of aluminum alloy, plated steel, or nonmetallic materials which will resist deterioration and corrosion.
Construction
All frame members shall be neatly fitted and mechanically joined at the corners with plated or stainless steel screws. Window glazing shall be held in place with extruded aluminum snap-in stops removable for reglazing.
Finish
Aluminum window frame members furnished from stock inventory shall be dark bronze anodized, or Warmtone paint. Additional Standard, Designer and Custom painted colors shall be supplied as specified. Westerns Standard painted finishes shall conform to AAMA 2605-02, "Specification for Superior Performing Organic Coatings on Architectural Aluminum Extrusions and Panels". Custom and Designer color finishes shall conform to AAMA 2604-02, "Specification for High Performance Organic Coatings on Aluminum Extrusions and Panels." This finish can be upgraded to meet the AAMA 2605-02 specification as an option.
Glazing
Insulating glass shall be DUO-PANE® sealed insulating glass as manufactured by Western Window Systems and shall conform to ASTM Specification E774-97 for insulating glass. Insulating glass shall be manufactured using 3mm (1/8") thick glass up to 20 square feet, 5mm (3/16") thick glass up to 40 square feet and 6mm (1/4") thick glass over 40 square feet, all with a minimum air space of 1/2". Single pane glass, when specified, shall be supplied in 5mm (3/16") up to 32 square feet and 6m (1/4") over 32 square feet Insulating and single pane glass shall conform to ASTM Specification C1036--01, Standard Specification for Flat Glass. All DUO-PANE® units shall be dual-sealed using polyisobutylene (P.I.B.) as the primary seal and silicone as the secondary seal.
Weather-Stripping
Weather-stripping shall be 1/8" or 1/16" glazing tape, depending on glass thickness, full perimeter of frame. Weather-stripping at the exterior stops to be pull-in, non-stretch, extruded virgin vinyl.
Installation
Installation shall be in accordance with published instructions by Western Window Systems, LLC.
