This home was built in the beautiful and exclusive hill country of Johnson City, Texas. Designed by Ohlhuasen DuBois Architects and built by Rice Construction, this home and it’s large view windows overlook the vast open hills that Central Texas is known for. The layout of this home is perfect to take in both morning sunrise and the evening sunsets. Western products used include 600 Series Window wall, 700 Series Casements and Awning window and 600 Series Sliding Patio Doors. Also, on two custom openings Western supplied our window wall frame and the customer installed a wood door inside of them. We love challenges, and we love working with this architect and builder.

This private residence in the Phoenix Area was designed by architect David Dick, and was built by Stone Creek Building Co. Both firms are versatile in the types of homes they create, but when the design calls for a contemporary look they both choose Western Window Systems for their exterior windows and doors. Large window walls, sliding glass doors, and venting windows are used throughout the project to achieve several different objectives. The home is full of natural light, and is complimented by clean, straight lined architecture. Western was thrilled to be a part of such a great project.

With sweeping angles, endless walls of glass, and custom details – he certainly knows how to challenge a window company. Luckily, Western product and glazing specifics were identified from the beginning and our product blended seamlessly with his grand design. Western 900 Series Hinged Doors, 700 Series Casements, 600 Series Sliding Doors were all used on this project.

Juxtaposed between majestic views of prehistoric red rock formations and the glamour and glitz of the Las Vegas strip, this 5500 square foot Post Modern gem boasts simplicity which translates into an informal elegance and 21st century sophistication. It truly is maximum minimalism. The Western 600 Series Multi-Slide Pocket Doors and Sliding Glass Doors were chosen for their minimalism….their ability to disappear…and their clean, straight simplicity. This home has been featured on the cover of multiple magazines and is a wonderful showcase for Western product.

Venice Beach - California

Designed by celebrated firm, Stephen Vitalich Architects, his Broadway project called for four loft style single family residences developed as a small lot subdivision. Steven used Western’s 600 Series multi-slides to make each residence feel larger. Indoor/outdoor living that included a roof deck was greatly encouraged by doors that slide and stack to the side to open up multiple rooms to enjoy the outdoors. When we look at his project, we like to call it “urban space exploration”. What phenomenol work.

This private residence was designed by the respected firm, Bodron + Fruit Architects and was built by Steve McCombs. The home utilized Western products across a variety of our series in some massive sizes. There is a 600 Series Sliding Glass door that is 11’ tall, there are (3) 600 Series fixed windows that are over 70 square feet, and there is a 900 Series Hinged Door frame that the customer installed a Wood Entry door within. The architect wanted to maintain consistent vertical sightlines throughout the house, which is made easier by incorporating windows and doors into our 600 Series Window Wall frame.

The Architect for this beautiful home was Shane Hansen Fernandez and is located in the hill country of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Western had the pleasure of supplying both our 600 Series Window Wall and our 900 Series Hinged Doors. The design team utilized Western’s Modern Divided Lites to give the windows and doors the look of paned glass, yet still chose the Narrow Stile hinged door to keep sightlines minimal. Architect Shane Hansen Fernandez also had a specific request to use Solar Cool Bronze glass, which Western was able to locate and glaze into all of our product.

Architect Gordon Rogers has an incredible knack for creating glass homes that still have incredible warmth and comfort. Lot 99 Painted Sky utilized Western’s 600 Series Multi-Slides and Standard Patio Doors. Gordi wanted clean, narrow sightlines to compliment his custom wood ceilings and arched detail. The finish project is outstanding.

Located on the edge of a cliff, this private residence in Beverly Hills is one of the finest projects Western has ever been a part of. The architect’s use of oversized 600 Series Multi-Slides and Sliding Glass Doors open up the entire home to a view of the Los Angeles skyline. Our 600 Series window wall had motorized 700 Series awnings and casements all throughout the home. With the perfect weather of Southern California and the amazing views of Beverly Hills, Western was the perfect choice for this project.

This beautiful home was featured in the Arizona edition of Luxe Magazine. It’s sleek, contemporary lines and transparent vistas are a tribute to the architecture of H.K. Associates Inc. Designed to be the epitome of green living, they utilized Western’s 600 Series Multi-Slides and Window Wall, as well as 700 Series Casements and 900 Series Hinged Doors. Fueled by homeowners that love to design, most all of the doors open up completely to invite the outdoors in.

This home was built in the affluent Portlock area on the Island of Oahu. The feature door on this project was a Western 90 degree Multi-Slide Door System. The door was so large (50’ on one leg and 32’ on the other) that it was the largest 90 degree door that Western has ever manufactured. When the entire stacking door system is open, it makes for a perfect environment for entertaining and allows the homeowner to enjoy the beauty of the Hawaiian weather.

This home is one of their pre-fab concepts, in which modular units are constructed and built in their factory before being shipped to the jobsite. Marmol uses Western 600 Series Sliding patio doors, 600 Series Multi-Slides, 900 Series Hinged Doors, 700 Series Casements, etc. They are renowned for the sleek, modern look, and Western is an ideal window and door supplier to compliment this cutting edge design.

Sever Design Group designed this incredible home to be tucked against the mountains yet still feel like it was meant to be there. The expansive patio and view deck were lined with Western’s 600 Series Window wall around the back of the home. Western’s Multi-Slide Doors open up entire rooms to a beautiful pool that hangs on the edge of the mountain.

Located in Portlock on the island of Oahu, this project was a perfect combination of Western’s specialty door systems. Western, and our dealer, Windows Hawaii, helped the homeowner design an incredible lanai enclosure. Western’s 9500 Series Bi-Fold door opens and stacks to the sides, opening up an entire room of the house to the outside. The architect also designed in 3-panel multi-slide doors on both sides of the folding door system. The homeowners love to spend time with their small children playing on the lanai. They love that they can open it up with the combination of doors but yet in inclement weather, they can also close the doors and still have a functional lanai.

Architect Rick Ryniak designed this gorgeous home located in the Makena area of Wailea on Maui. He utilized Western’s 600 Series Sliding Doors, Multi-Slide Pocket Doors, Awning Windows, Hinged Doors, curved fixed glass, and a large 600 Series Window Wall system. The custom window wall stands nearly twenty feet high and consists of two vertical 10’ x 10’ pieces of glass with side panels the same height in curved glass. The home does an incredible job of capturing the custom view of its beautiful surroundings.

With it’s bold design and dramatic angled roof, Western was thrilled to be a part of this contemporary masterpiece. Large 600 Series Multi-Slide Doors meet at a sharp corner and open up the entire home to the valley below. City lights and sunsets are best captured through Western Windows.

Kapalua, Maui - Hawaii

This project was designed by architect Rick Ryniak, and he was able to design a project that opens up nearly ever wall of the home to the outside. Western supplied eleven 600 series multi-slide doors, including a specialty 90 degree multi slide system. Six of the eleven multi-slide doors are equipped with remote automated door openers supplied by Doors In Motion. The homeowners on this project love to remotely open the doors from their home from a cell phone as they approach their subdivision, allowing them to enter an open air home when they walk through the door.

Architects Wan Su Lim and Matthew Wells of Hanna Gabriel Wells Architects utilized Westerns 600 series window wall with 90 degree butt glazing along with 700 series hinged windows and 900 series hinged doors in there personal home. “Inspired by the Arts + Architecture Magazine’s Case Study House, this steel framed home is an exploration of structural simplicity and efficiency. Its unencumbered floors allow maximum flexibility for transparency and spatial definition. Seemingly harsh materials like metal. Concrete, masonry and glass are balanced with warmer materials of wood, stone and textiles resulting in a comfortable vessel for modern living."

Architect Lloyd Russell designed this home to mitigate the harsh heat of the California desert. It was featured in Dwell Magazine’s July/August 2009 issue. It features Western’s 600 Series Multi-Slide Door System to help maximize the indoor/outdoor living element.This modern home also utilized Western’s 700 Series Awning Window to give the house additional ventilation. The project is located in Pioneertown, California.

For this project the homeowner selected our 600 Series Fixed Window to capture the expansive views of their forest surroundings. Our 900 Series Residential Aluminum Swinging Door was used for all the egress doors.Western helped engineer the openings and fabricated the steel necessary and concealed it in the frame members. The owner selected Western Window’s Stock Bronze Anodized finish to take advantage of our quick lead-times.

The owner of this home is Rick Salter, who is also the owner of Custom Home Window & Door in Las Vegas. Rick chose WWS & built this home to showcase the Western product. He regularly uses his home as a full size showroom, bringing in customers, architects & builders to see, feel & operate the windows and doors in a real-life scenario. The entire home has been automated, allowing the homeowner the ability to adjust the temperature, open or close the blinds, turn lights on & off from anywhere in the world they have phone service. Along with the Multi-Slide doors, Rick included 700 series casements, 900 series hinged doors, and 600 series window wall. What a wonderful home for entertaining!

Our window wall frame system replicates the desired look of storefront with the refinement and precision of a factory manufactured window system. 900 Series Hinged Doors and 600 Series Sliding Glass Doors opened the home to the exterior.

The 600 Series Sliding Glass Doors were stretched from floor to ceiling, achieving the minimal site lines that Taylor Design Build was after. Our 600 Series Window Walls turn 90 degree corners, and ½” single pane butt glazes leave an invisible corner that obstructs none of the view. 600 Series Multi-Slide doors open up the home to the pool, and this open air access invites the homeowners to come out and enjoy the beauty of the Arizona desert that surrounds them.

When Bernbaum Magadini Architects designed this private home in Dallas, one of their main objectives was maintaining narrow sightlines throughout the house to capture the view of the beautiful wooded green belt behind the home. Western was a natural choice, as our windows and doors have large expanses of glass and minimal frame profiles. The customer used a mixture of 600 Series Window Wall and large oversized 600 Series Sliding Patio Doors.

This customer chose WWS Dark Bronze Anodized finish for a short lead-time. Because of the complexity and size of this job the contractor was unable to frame the entire home before ordering his windows & doors. With WWS he was able to order & install the windows & doors as he completed the different phases of the build, in turn shorting his build time. WWS was able to fill the larger window wall openings utilizing the 600 series system, encasing steel in the extrusions to obtain the required wind load, as well as narrow sight lines. This home uses the 600 window wall, Multi-Slide doors, 700 series casement windows and 900 series Hinged doors.

While the unique exterior structure of this home with the towering mountain behind it is a site to behold, the entry way is even more impressive. The large 900 Series Western Pivot Door mulled to the adjacent Series 600 Window Wall. Western also incorporated 700 Series casements into our window wall system to mull to patio sliding doors. Our extrusions and brake metal concealed the existing structure to tie the entire wall into the Western family.

This unique home was designed by Bada Architects out of Texas. The home is a showcase of Western’s 600 series window wall with large 4’ x 7’ tall 700 series casements installed in the wall of glass for ventilation. The architect wanted the exterior walls to be made of glass, and most every exterior wall of the home utilized Western’s window wall system. The homeowner’s wanted the contemporary look of storefront, but the attention to detail, weather protection, and fit and finish of a luxury residential product. Western’s 600 Series Window Wall accomplishes all of those things. Our windows and doors were able to capture the homeowner’s custom view of beautiful Lake Austin.

This private residence is a prime example of Western’s versatility and ability to work well as the window and door choice on a more traditional project. True divided lite, a custom painted green color, a large amount of hinged doors….all of these design criteria stay within the comfort zone of Western. This particular customer also incorporated custom hardware into each of our hinged doors to match their interiors. Western can incorporate most any custom hardware into our 900 Series Hinged doors as long as that hardware has a maximum 2-3/8” backset.

This contemporary project in Scottsdale, Arizona featured the best of Western’s various product lines. The massive oversize stacked windows were created using Western’s 600 Series window wall, and were reinforced by steel that was inserted into the vertical mulls to provide additional structure. The home also utilized Western’s 900 series hinged and pivot doors, as well as 600 Series Sliding Glass doors and screens on the patio. For some of the featured entertainment areas, the homeowner selected Western’s 600 Series Multi-Slide doors to open up the entire living areas. 700 Series casements and awnings were used to ventilate the house as these particular homeowners love to enjoy cool weather.

Western uses CAD shop drawings to align verticals of windows above doors, capture the look of custom butt glazes, and figure out difficult jamb conditions.

For this project Western Window Systems provided several 600 Series Sliding Patio Doors and Multislide Doors.  The showpiece of the home is the 90 degree multislide with the full screen option that allows them to have a fully screened opening or glass opening depending on which panels they choose out of the hidden pocket.  This door utilized our thin line sill which provides a hidden track that is flush with the top of the tile floor.  This provides a smooth transition from inside to outside and allows the homeowner to open up the whole corner of their home.  This homeowner selected Western’s Warmtone Kynar Paint for their product.

This custom home built by Lenzmeier Construction was one of the most unique projects Western had ever been involved in. This massive project with livable square footage of 13,138 and 24,877 under roof was designed to be different than the homes around it. The custom window shapes with unique radius bends and patterns eliminated most all other windows from consideration….but Western’s 600 Series Window Wall product can be built to match most any custom template. This project also had a custom painted color, which Western was able to apply to our 600 Series Sliding Glass Doors and Multi Slides, 900 Series Hinged Doors, and 100 and 700 Series Windows throughout the home.

This contemporary project is nestled against the mountains of Paradise Valley. Calvis Wyant Luxury Homes built this home and chose Western because of the homeowners desire for a clean, modular look and feel. Western provided 600 Series Multi Slides & Sliding Glass Doors, as well as 700 Series Casements, 600 Series Butt-Glaze frames, etc. Architecturally the design called for a horizontal line to be carried throughout the back of the home. Western utilized modern divided lite as well as true divided lite to tie all of our different product families together and execute this contemporary design.

This home was designed by celebrated firm Anderson Anderson Architecture for an anthropologist and a concert pianist, retiring from Phoenix, Arizona, to this small New Mexico town. This house uses several relatively standard prefabrication systems. SIPs are used for the wall panels only, while the roof and floors are constructed of prefabricated 2×4 long-span trusses. For budget reasons, local contextualism, and appropriately barnyard practicality, we settled on chain link as a major material system for the house, protecting domestic animals and people from other animals or from accidental falls from the upper terraces. The kitchen in this home was featured in the “100 Kitchens We Love” issue of Dwell magazine.
