• Western’s 100 Series windows are available in horizontal sliding, single hung and fixed.
• Almost any combination of fixed and operating windows can be stacked or mulled in the same plan using our basic window mullion.
• Windows can also be mulled in a bay configuration at any angle from 90 degrees to 135 degrees using our adjustable bay mullion.
• The frame depth of 2.81” is the same as our 700 Series Hinged Windows, allowing us to mull 100 Series product to 700 Series product, or integrate both into our 600 Series Window Wall System.

• Horizontal Sliding windows are typically referred to as XO or OX. As viewed from the outside the operable panel (X) is on the left, and is typically one-half the overall width. The (O) designates “Fixed.”
• An XOX Sliding window provides a vent on the left and the right, with a fixed panel in the center. Each vent panel is typically one-fourth the window width and the fixed panel is one-half.
• Windows are built custom, so feel free to be creative with different vent widths.
• XO or OX windows are available up to 96” in width and 72” in height with a maximum overall size of 40 square feet.
• XOX windows are available up to 120” in width and 72” in height with a maximum size of 50 square feet.
• Our Slider has been tested and is certified to a rating of H-C30 with a frame size up to 156” x 72”, vent panel size up to 48” x 70” and fixed panel size up to 58” x 68”.
• The H-C30 equates to a design pressure of 30 pounds per square foot, the equivalent of an 108 MPH wind speed.
• To ensure smooth, quiet operation each sliding panel is equipped with durable Acetal plastic rollers mounted in nylon housings.
• For security, a positive acting cam lock engages an integrated strike in the frame center bar.
• Structural Integrity is achieved by using heavy wall extrusions throughout, with tubular extrusions at the vent panel stiles.

• Single Hung Windows slide vertically to provide an opening at the bottom. Typically the vent height is 24”, or half the window height if the window is less than 48” tall.
• Custom vent heights are available as long as it does not exceed half the window height or 12 square feet.
• When a Single Hung Window is required to meet egress, consult our office to confirm the proper vent size.
• Single Hung windows are available up to 48” in width and 96” in height.
• Our Single Hung has been tested and is certified to a rating of C30, up to a frame size of 56” x 96”, with a vent and fixed panel size up to 54” x 48”.
• The C30 equates to a design pressure of 30 pounds per square foot, the equivalent of a 108 MPH wind speed.
• To control the vent panel in the open position, our Single Hung Windows are equipped with block- and tackle-type balances.
• For security, a positive acting cam lock engages an integrated strike in the frame center bar.
• Although Single Hung configurations are very desirable in many applications, periodic maintenance of the balance system may be required.

Whether anodized or painted, we can generally match any color for your window and door products. On top of unlimited color options, Western uses the highest quality finishes available today. For painted products, nearly all of Western’s colors and finishes conform to a minimum rating of AAMA-2605 (which is the highest rating available for organic finishes today). For anodized product, our Dark Bronze and Satin anodized finishes receive a Class 1 rating (which is the highest and most durable rating available for anodized aluminum finishes). Dark Bronze anodized is our most popular finish and has the best price point and production lead time. Western also offers our “Edge Guard” painted finish for customers that are within a few miles of the ocean. This upgrade option is a strong investment in protecting your products from potential corrosion caused by salt water. This custom finishing procedure involves Western fabricating and processing all of the components associated with your window and door package before sending the metal to be painted. By painting pre-fabricated parts (instead of cutting and processing parts after they have been painted), the “Edge Guard” process ensures that there are no raw aluminum edges left unfinished, and instead sees all aluminum edges painted with the same high-quality finish used on the rest of the project. An upgrade to “Edge Guard” provides the additional benefit to customers of a 10-year warranty.

Another popular choice for exterior aluminum frame finishes include our aluminum wood grain powder coat finishes. Western’s 100 Series Horizontal Sliders, Single Hungs and Fixed Windows are designed to accommodate Duo-Pane Insulating glass manufactured with a ½” air gap to maximize the benefit of high performance Low E. Horizontal Slider and Single Hung windows are available with a variety of glass types and colors, but are limited to ¾” overall Duo-Pane units. Fixed windows can be glazed with any thickness from 3/16” to 1”.

All 100 Series operating windows include insect screens with frames finished to match the window frame color. Each screen is wired with a charcoal-colored, vinyl-coated fiberglass mesh that is resistant to damage and is almost transparent when viewing through the window. The screens are mounted to the outside and are simple to remove for window cleaning.
